Once your enquiry has been received an initial virtual consultation will be made. This is a 30 minute appointment to take a full history, determine that face to face contact is necessary and that Physiotherapy is the correct approach. It is also an opportunity to ask any questions and ensure a therapeutic relationship can be established.
Your child should be present so that I can introduce myself and explain what will happen during the assessment and what they need to bring.
Following this a plan can be drawn up and a face to face consultation arranged.
Our face to face assessment will then last approximately 1 hour, during which a full assessment of posture, joint position and movement, muscle strength and function will be performed targeting problematic areas and triggering activities.
Towards the end of the session we will discuss these findings and a management plan, which is likely to include a home activity programme.
To allow a full assessment of movement and posture please bring your child shorts and a vest/small t-shirt, please also bring a hair tie for long hair.
Assessments will predominantly take place at our base where we have access to a large room and outdoor space should this be required.
Roundwood Function Suite, 44 Ringland Road, Norwich, NR8 6HY
This will depend on the findings of the assessment and level of hands on intervention required.
It is likely however that a home exercise program will be recommended in isolation or alongside clinic based sessions.
Rachel will go away and devise you a personal programme. A follow up appointment will then be arranged to educate and set up the programme, which will be supported by a live video for you to follow at home.
This will be reviewed at regular intervals depending on progress.
